1 February 2022 | 10.30am - 11.30am
On 17 November 2021, ASIC released a draft (updated and expanded) regulatory guide on consumer remediation in a bid to ensure that AFS licensees act efficiently, honestly, and fairly when remediating consumers. The corporate regulator said the new guidance is an important step for the industry as it currently is monitoring 64 remediations that will see the return of about $5.4 billion to over 5.6 million consumers.
This is just one example of ASIC’s areas of interest. To ensure members are up to date with ASIC’s regulatory priorities and financial services related developments, we will be hosting our first 2022 instalment of our webinar series ‘ASIC – The Regulator’s Role in Our Economic Recovery’ on 1 February from 10.30am – 11.30am.
Tune in to hear AFIA CEO, Diane Tate and ASIC's Senior Executive Leader - Credit, Retail Banking & Payments, Tim Gough, answer some of the critical questions in the minds of directors, executives, and legal and risk experts across the industry.
Diane and Tim will deep dive into updates on ASIC’s engagement with members and upcoming consultations as well as upcoming developments in the regulator’s introduction/use of new regulatory tools and reforms.
